Beginning Racer Webinar, Session 1

If you missed the first session of the Beginning Racer Webinar or you're new to riding in a group and want to learn the basics, check it out below (or here). We covered the basic skills and concepts of riding in a group.

We'll build on these next week in the second session by talking about how these basics are applied to cornering, sprinting, and navigating your way through a group of riders. If you'd like to join us live on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 8:30 to listen or ask questions, sign up here (free!) any time before that session starts.

We're Back … Virtually!

While the Ann Arbor Spring Training Series is on hold due to the COVID-19 pandemic, bike riding has been on anything but a hiatus—people are out enjoying riding! At some point outdoor racing will return and we want to help new racers—or even just people interested in riding in groups—be prepared. So we're hosting two sessions of the Beginning Racer Webinar, June 20 and 27, 8:30-9:30 a.m.

In this free webinar, learn the basics for riding in a group. You could be headed out with friends, joining a group ride, finishing a gran fondo, doing a gravel grinder, or racing in a criterium—understanding how you should ride and what to expect of others in a group will help you to ride faster and more safely!

This program will be done in two sessions. On Saturday, June 20 we will cover the fundamentals of what, why, and how to ride well in a group. The following Saturday, June 27, we will build on those fundamentals by applying and adapting them to cornering, sprinting, and other dynamic group riding situations. Along the way we will have plenty of time for question and answer about group riding or cycling in general.

Please join us for both sessions, but if you can't participate live make sure to register and we will notify you when the recorded versions are available.

Normally we'd learn and practice these basics during the Ann Arbor Spring Training Series, but until the series returns live we're excited to help you learn the foundations of basic group riding skills.
